The ongoing 2025 edition of the SBE Women Project, in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), has reached deep into communities across the FCT, capturing participants from key areas including Kuje, Gwagwalada, Lugbe, Kabusa, Dawaki, Karu, Nyanya, Bwari, and Dutse. The project specifically targets petty traders — women who hawk their goods, trade by the roadside, or operate small tables in markets — with the aim of equipping them with the skills and capital to grow their businesses sustainably.

With over 200 women now enlisted, preparations are underway for the next critical phase: orientation and training, designed to provide participants with essential knowledge in business management, financial literacy, and personal development.

Our goal is to empower these women not just with capital, but with the right skills and mindset to grow their businesses and lift their families out of poverty,” said Mr. Frugal, Founder of FEF. “We are thrilled with the turnout and excited to begin the training process, which is key to ensuring long-term success for the beneficiaries.”

The orientation and training sessions are set to commence in the coming weeks, bringing together experts, trainers, and resource persons who will guide the women through practical workshops and interactive sessions. The project will culminate in the disbursement of business grants ranging from ₦100,000 to ₦150,000 to successful participants at a special event scheduled for November 29, 2025, at the Cyprian Ekwensi Centre for Art and Culture, Area 10, Garki, Abuja.
