2025 was another remarkable year for the Frugal Empowerment Foundation, continuing its mission of empowering talented musicians and creating opportunities through music. The year began with the inspiring Greenwich Youth Music Performance and Award Ceremony (GYMPAC) held on June 7th, 2025, where young artists showcased their talent and passion on a vibrant platform.

The foundation also extended its impact internationally through the Small Business Empowerment (SBE) initiative and a dynamic Youth Singing Event at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Benin City, bringing together emerging talents and celebrating the power of music to inspire communities.

In the UK, the foundation proudly showcased artists including Shirley B, Ero, Michelle, Lucia, Free Bee, Isabela, Harry O, Brado, Eghoza, Fabien, Maxwell, and Somani. International performers such as Loso, Femty, Willy Blinkz, Hilda Muna, Moses, Ten Ten, and many more also joined the movement.

More than empowerment, 2025 built a genuine bond between the foundation and its artists. The vision remains clear: every empowered artist is encouraged to support others and help spread the mission of opportunity, unity, and community through music.

Loso 3^rd visit to UK

Loso, whose official name is Ugheghele Miracle, is one of the beneficiary music artists empowered by the Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF). As part of the foundation’s growing global network of talented artists, he will be visiting the United Kingdom as an official guest ahead of the GYMPAC 2026 event.

During his visit, Loso will also be volunteering with the Frugal Music Academy (FMA), a key branch of the foundation dedicated to nurturing and developing emerging musical talent. His participation reflects the spirit of the foundation’s mission where empowered artists give back by mentoring and inspiring the next generation of musicians.

This visit highlights the strong international connections built through the Frugal Empowerment Foundation and reinforces its commitment to creating opportunities through music, mentorship, and community engagement.

Skill Acquisition

Skill Project: The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) plans to expand its Ebonyi State Skill Development Project into a small production company.

After successfully training participants in soap and detergent making in 2025, FEF now wants to help them use these skills in a real business. This will help create jobs, increase productivity, and provide steady income for people in the Ebonyi community.

The new production company will be communitybased. It will give trained participants hands-on work experience while producing goods that can be sold in the market.

FEF is currently looking for partners, funding, and market opportunities to support this project. The Foundation hopes this model can be repeated in other states across Nigeria.

Caring Saturdays 2026: FEF Determined to Reach Out to Crisis Victims in Nigeria

The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) has reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian service with the continuation of its Caring Saturdays initiative in 2026, aimed at supporting crisis victims and vulnerable communities across Nigeria.

Caring Saturdays is designed as a rapid-response outreach programme, providing food items, basic relief materials, emotional support, and encouragement to individuals and families affected by displacement, poverty, and other humanitarian crises. Through this initiative, FEF seeks to restore dignity, hope, and a sense of belonging to those facing difficult circumstances.

As Nigeria continues to grapple with economic hardship and security-related challenges, FEF noted that the need for timely and compassionate intervention has become even more critical. The Foundation is therefore seeking donations, grants, and partnerships to enable regular outreach activities and to expand the reach of Caring Saturdays in 2026.

Following the successful training of participants in soap and detergent production in 2025, FEF is set to transition from skills acquisition to structured production, enabling beneficiaries to apply their knowledge in a real business environment. The initiative is aimed at promoting productivity, creating jobs, and generating sustainable income within the Ebonyi community.

According to the Foundation, the micro production company will serve as a community-based enterprise, offering practical work experience for trained beneficiaries while producing market-ready goods. This approach aligns with FEF’s broader goal of moving beyond training to long-term economic empowerment and local value creation.

2026 SBE: FEF Opens GoFundMe, Appeals for Funds and Donations

The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) has officially opened a GoFundMe campaign in support of its 2026 Small Business Empowerment (SBE) Women Project, as part of a broader appeal for funds and donations to sustain and expand the initiative.

The 2026 SBE Project is designed to empower 500 women drawn from different states across Nigeria, equipping them with financial support, business training, and mentorship to strengthen their small businesses and improve household livelihoods. Key Community Support Activities The Caring Saturdays Initiative encompasses several impactful community support activities, including: Greenwich Festive Aid: Supporting families and individuals during the festive season. Crisis Victim Relief for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs): Helping individuals and families affected by crisis and displacement. Greenwich Festive Aid 2026 Presented by Peinsigiere Tzavelakou At the Trustee Meeting held on 7 February 2026, members of the Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) unanimously agreed to continue and strengthen Caring Saturday’s Greenwich Festive Aid (GFA) initiative for the year ahead. . Following the positive outcomes and meaningful community impact recorded in 2025, the trustees confirmed that the event will now take place twice annually. The confirmed dates for Greenwich Festive Aid 2026 are: *Saturday, 4 April 2026* *Saturday, 19 December 2026* The decision reflects the organisation’s commitment to providing consistent support to vulnerable members of the community, particularly during key periods of the year when assistance is most needed. Expanding Community Support After carefully reviewing and evaluating the impact of the GFA 2025 program, the Foundation recognised the significant benefits delivered to local residents, care homes, and individuals experiencing financial hardship. As a result, the trustees have agreed to expand the reach of the project beyond Greenwich. In 2026, Frugal Empowerment Foundation intends to extend the program to additional London boroughs, with particular attention given to East London, where there has been a growing number of requests for support from both care homes and low-income communities. This expansion aims to ensure that more individuals facing economic challenges can access essential festive support, strengthening community wellbeing and social inclusion across a wider area. GYMPAC 2026, 25^th July GYMPAC serves as an important platform for recognising and celebrating the musical talents and creative achievements of young people, while encouraging confidence, cultural expression, and community participation. The 2025 grant award winner, Shirly B, will play a leading role in supporting and spearheading the 2026 event, helping to mentor participants and contribute to the continued success of the programme. Trustees emphasize the importance of expanding the program and fostering greater community engagement to maximize impact. The regular music sessions take place every Friday from 4:00–6:00 PM, excluding school and public holidays. GYMPAC 2026/25^th July Reported by Dr Peter Osezua The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) is pleased to announce the 4th consecutive hosting of the Greenwich Youth Music Performance & Award Ceremony (GYMPAC), which will take place on 25 July 2026 at the Tramshed Theatre Hall, Woolwich, from 2:30 pm to 8:00 pm. As the event continues to grow each year, GYMPAC 2026 aims to engage and inspire over 150 young people from communities across Greenwich. The programme will feature talented participants from local primary and secondary schools, emerging young artists, and singing contestants who will perform before a distinguished panel of judges. The event will also welcome special guests, including the Mayor of Greenwich, local business partners, community leaders, and supporters who share the Foundation’s commitment to youth empowerment and creative development.
Caring For Elderly 2026 A Promising Year Ahead 2026 promises to be an impactful year for the Frugal Empowerment Foundation as we expand our flagship initiative, Caring Saturdays, to support elderly residents in 12 care homes across the UK and crisis-affected communities in Nigeria. In the United Kingdom, the initiative aims to reduce isolation among elderly residents and improve their social wellbeing through engaging activities such as music, storytelling, and comedy. This year, Caring Saturdays will take place across: Royal Borough of Greenwich, London Borough of Lewisham, London Borough of Lambeth, London Borough of Southwark, Dartford and East London These events will bring communities together, offering entertainment, opportunities to share personal stories, and assistance in identifying and addressing individual needs. The expected outcomes include reduced isolation, improved wellbeing, stronger community connections, and better support for elderly residents. In Nigeria, the initiative will reach crisis-affected communities in Benue, Borno, Plateau, and Yobe states, providing vital support and relief to those impacted by displacement and hardship. The SBE 2026 programme will focus on empowering 500 vulnerable women petty traders across Lagos, Edo, and Abuja, Nigeria. This charitable initiative provides grants, training, and mentorship, addressing critical barriers such as limited funding, lack of business knowledge, and restricted access to resources. By supporting aspiring entrepreneurs, the programme helps them establish or expand their small businesses, fostering economic independence and stronger communities.
