The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF), in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), has announced that the month of October 2025 will be dedicated to the training and orientation of SBE beneficiaries in Abuja.
The training program is part of the Small Business Empowerment (SBE) 2025 Project, which seeks to empower 500 women across Nigeria—with 200 in Abuja, 200 in Lagos, and 100 in Edo State—through a combination of capacity-building workshops, mentorship, and ₦100,000 business support grants each.
According to FEF, the October training sessions in Abuja will focus on entrepreneurship, financial management, record-keeping, customer service,
and business sustainability, ensuring that beneficiaries are well-prepared to maximize the grants they will receive.
The grant-giving event is scheduled for November 2025, where the selected Abuja beneficiaries will be officially supported to start or expand their small businesses.
Speaking on the development, Dr. Frugal, Founder of FEF, emphasized that “training is a critical part of empowerment. Without equipping our women with the right knowledge, funds alone cannot guarantee sustainable progress. That is why we are glad to have SMEDAN as a technical partner for this life-changing initiative.”
This marks a significant step in the countdown to SBE 2025, reinforcing FEF’s commitment to breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering women-led businesses across Nigeria.
