SBE FCT 2025: FEF Empowers 200 Women Grant Giving Event Holds in Grand Style

The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) has successfully concluded the Small Business Empowerment (SBE) 2025 FCT Grant Giving Event, empowering 200 women across the Federal Capital Territory. The event, held on Saturday, 29th November 2025, at the Cyprian Ekwensi Centre for Arts and Culture, Area 10, Garki, Abuja, marked the completion of months of training, screening, and orientation across key communities including Kuje, Nyanya, Kabusa, and Dutse.

The ceremony drew representatives from government agencies, financial institutions, partner organisations, and supporting foundations. In attendance were delegates from SMEDAN, Union Bank, FBS Money (UK), Onye Enyere Foundation, and various community stakeholders, all united in their commitment to advancing women’s economic empowerment.

Speaking virtually from London, Dr. Peter Osezua (Dr. Frugal), Founder and President of FEF, expressed his happiness over the transformation witnessed throughout the programme. He encouraged the beneficiaries to put their new skills, training, and seed capital to productive use, assuring them of FEF’s continued support in building sustainable livelihoods.

The beneficiaries had earlier completed a structured SBE training process, including entrepreneurship development sessions, financial literacy, and account opening facilitated by FBS Money, the official payment platform for the initiative. Their graduation into the grant phase symbolises a renewed journey toward financial independence.

According to Ms. Grace Ehi Ojiji, SBE Project Coordinator, the FCT grant giving event sets a strong pace for subsequent editions in Lagos and Edo, which will empower 200 and 100 women respectively, bringing the total number of SBE 2025 beneficiaries to 500 women nationwide.

She expressed gratitude to all donors, partners, volunteers, and supporters whose collective effort made the FCT edition a resounding success. She further noted that FEF remains committed to breaking the barriers to economic inclusion by giving women access to skills, capital, and mentorship.

The SBE 2025 project continues to strengthen FEF’s mission of empowering communities, reducing poverty, and supporting women-owned micro-businesses across Nigeria.

Greenwich Festive Aid Loading: FEF Calls for More Donations to Touch More Lives This Christmas

As the Christmas season approaches, the Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) UK has announced the commencement of preparations for the 2025 Greenwich Festive Aid Outreach, an annual humanitarian initiative designed to support vulnerable families, the elderly, and individuals experiencing hardship within the Greenwich community.

This year’s edition, scheduled to hold at Woolwich Arsenal Station, aims to reach over 1,000 beneficiaries, providing essential items such as food supplies, winter clothing, hygiene products, warm meals, and emotional support during the festive period.

With demand for assistance rising across the UK due to economic pressures and the cost-of-living crisis, FEF has made an urgent appeal for donations, sponsorships, and volunteer support to help expand the impact of the outreach.

According to the organisation, early fundraising is crucial to ensuring that no one is left out this Christmas. The Foundation emphasised that every contribution—whether financial, material, or volunteer time—helps brighten the season for individuals and families who would otherwise struggle.

The President of FEF, Dr. Peter Osezua (Dr. Frugal), encouraged well-meaning individuals, community groups, and corporate bodies to give generously, noting that Christmas is a season of compassion and shared humanity.

“Our goal is simple—to bring warmth, relief, and joy to those who need it most. With more support, we can reach even more people this year,” he said.

Donations can be made through the Foundation’s official platforms as preparations intensify throughout November and December.

With the completion of Phase 3 preparations, FEF is now expanding operations to include commercial production and marketing of high-quality soaps and detergents.

According to the Foundation, the expansion opens opportunities for:

  • Bulk production partnerships
  • Marketing and distribution collaborations

FEF Advocates for Peace Amid Rising Global Conflicts

The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) has renewed its call for global peace and unity as crises continue to escalate across various regions, including Ukraine, Israel, Nigeria, Sudan, and several other conflict-affected nations.

In a statement issued by the Foundation, FEF expressed deep concern over the increasing humanitarian challenges caused by war, displacement, economic instability, and widespread loss of lives. The organisation noted that families, especially women and children, bear the greatest burden during conflicts.

According to FEF, the world is currently experiencing “one of the most fragile moments in modern history,” making collective efforts toward peacebuilding more urgent than ever. The Foundation reiterated that violence and warfare only deepen poverty, hinder development, and weaken the social fabric of nations.

FEF encouraged world leaders, civil society organisations, humanitarian agencies, and communities to embrace dialogue, tolerance, and mutual understanding as the first steps toward lasting peace.
