Bogije, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State
At No. 2 Sadiku Street in Elemoro, Bogije, lives Mercy, a determined woman with a dream. In a rapidly growing area like Ibeju-Lekki ”where development meets daily struggle Mercy is working hard to carve out a better future for herself through small-scale entrepreneurship.
In 2024, Mercy was selected as a beneficiary of the Frugal Empowerment Foundation’s Small Business Empowerment (SBE) Project, receiving essential startup capital to launch her seasonal fruits business. With the funds, she began purchasing fresh fruits like mangoes, oranges, and pineapples setting up a modest roadside stand to serve her local community.
The support from FEF gave me a starting point, Mercy says with gratitude. I was able to get my first stock of fruits and start selling. But it hasn’t been easy”prices are high, and getting enough supply is a challenge. I need more help to keep going.
Despite the obstacles, Mercy remains hopeful and hardworking. Her story is a reflection of many women across Nigeria who have the will to succeed but lack consistent support. What she needs now is more investment, more encouragement, and a chance to grow her business into a sustainable source of income.
With your support, we can help women like Mercy rise above their circumstances and thrive. One small push can spark lasting impact ”let’s build a future where every woman has the chance to succeed.
