Caring Saturday’s: Shortage of Staff Halts Scheduled Outreach at Riverlee Residential Care Home

The planned Caring Saturdays outreach at Riverlee Residential and Nursing Care Home, originally scheduled for 30th May, has been postponed indefinitely due to an unforeseen shortage of staff at the facility.

While preparations were underway to bring moments of care, companionship, and joy to the residents, the management of the home advised that current staffing challenges would make it difficult to effectively host the event at this time.

We understand the importance of ensuring the well-being and comfort of residents, and we fully respect the decision made in their best interest. Although this postponement is disappointing, our commitment to serving and supporting the elderly community remains unwavering.

We look forward to rescheduling the outreach once circumstances improve and a suitable date is agreed upon. We sincerely appreciate the understanding, patience, and continued support of our volunteers, partners, and well-wishers.

Together, we remain committed to making a differenceโ€”one act of kindness at a time.

SBE Women Project 2026 FEF Commence Registration in Abuja

Empowering Women, Strengthening Communities, Transforming Lives

The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) has officially commenced the registration of beneficiaries for the Small Business Empowerment (SBE) Women Project 2026 in Abuja, marking another significant step in its commitment to supporting women-led micro and small businesses.

The initiative is designed to provide financial support and empowerment opportunities to petty traders and women entrepreneurs, helping them grow their businesses, improve their livelihoods, and contribute more meaningfully to their families and communities.

The Foundation calls on well-meaning stakeholders to join hands in making the SBE Women Project 2026 a life-changing intervention for hundreds of women striving to build better futures through entrepreneurship.

SBE 2026: Union Bank Leads Early Support as FEF Calls for More Corporate Partnerships

The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) is delighted to announce that Union Bank of Nigeria has become one of the first organizations to support the Small Business Empowerment (SBE) Women Project 2026, reinforcing its commitment to community development and economic empowerment.

Building on the remarkable success stories recorded during the 2025 edition of the project, Union Bank has doubled its financial contribution this year, demonstrating confidence in the impact of the initiative and the transformative power of supporting women-owned micro and small businesses.

The SBE Women Project has continued to create opportunities for petty traders and aspiring entrepreneurs, helping beneficiaries expand their businesses, increase household income, and improve their overall quality of life. The positive outcomes from previous editions have inspired greater ambition for 2026, with FEF seeking to reach even more deserving women across Abuja and beyond.

As beneficiary registration continues, FEF is calling on corporate organizations, philanthropists, development partners, and well-meaning individuals to join the movement. Increased sponsorship and collaboration will enable the Foundation to provide larger grants, support more beneficiaries, and create a wider ripple effect of economic empowerment within local communities.

SAVE THE CHILD 2026: FEF Unveils Donation Campaign to Restore Hope Through Education

“This year, we are determined to bring hope to more vulnerable children in Nigeria.” โ€” Dr. Peter Osezua (Mr. Frugal), Founder, Frugal Empowerment Foundation

The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) has officially launched its SAVE THE CHILD 2026 Project donation campaign, reaffirming its commitment to giving vulnerable children access to education, hope, and a brighter future.

As part of the initiative, the Foundation has released its donation platform and is calling on individuals, organizations, corporate bodies, and development partners to support the cause. The project seeks to provide educational materials, school support, mentorship, and other essential resources to children facing financial and social challenges that threaten their access to quality education.

Speaking on the campaign, Dr. Peter Osezua emphasized the Foundation’s resolve to expand its impact in 2026.

“This year, we are determined to bring hope to more vulnerable children in Nigeria. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, dream, and achieve their full potential regardless of their background or circumstances.”

Over the years, the SAVE THE CHILD Project has touched the lives of numerous children by helping them remain in school and pursue their educational aspirations. With the 2026 campaign now underway, FEF hopes to reach even more children and communities through the generosity of donors and partners who share the vision of a better future for every child.

Caring Saturdays 2026: FEF Pushes Forward Amid Limited Care Home Responses in the UK

The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) has reaffirmed its commitment to the Caring Saturdays 2026 outreach programme, with plans to extend support to 12 care homes across the United Kingdom, despite ongoing challenges in securing consistent responses from care home management.

The initiative, which focuses on bringing companionship, encouragement, and community support to elderly residents, continues to face delays in confirmation from several targeted facilities. However, the Foundation has maintained that these challenges will not weaken its resolve to serve.

FEF noted that the goal remains to build meaningful connections with care homes and ensure that elderly residents experience moments of joy, dignity, and emotional support through volunteer-driven engagements.

While engagement with some care home management teams has been slow, the Foundation is actively exploring alternative channels, strengthening communications, and reaching out to new facilities in order to meet its 2026 target.

Speaking on the development, the Foundation reiterated that elderly care remains a core part of its humanitarian vision, and every effort will be made to ensure that no planned outreach is abandoned.

FEF is also calling on partners, volunteers, and social care stakeholders in the UK to support the initiative by facilitating access to care homes and helping bridge communication gaps that often limit community-based outreach programmes.

Despite the setbacks, the Foundation remains optimistic that Caring Saturdays 2026 will still deliver impactful moments of love, interaction, and support to elderly residents across multiple care homes.

โ€œWe remain committed to care, connection, and compassionโ€”no matter the challenges.โ€

Caring Saturdays: FEF Targets Two Elderly Care Homes This June for Impact

The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) has announced plans to extend its Caring Saturdays outreach programme to two elderly care homes this June, as part of its ongoing commitment to compassion-driven community service.

The initiative is designed to bring comfort, companionship, and emotional support to elderly residents through volunteer visits, interactive sessions, and small acts of kindness aimed at improving well-being and reducing loneliness.

Despite earlier coordination challenges with some care homes, the Foundation is pressing forward with a focused approach for June, prioritizing confirmed locations where engagement can be effectively delivered and impact maximized.

FEF noted that this monthโ€™s outreach will serve as a strategic step in strengthening relationships with care facilities while refining its model for wider implementation in the months ahead.

Volunteers are expected to engage residents through conversations, storytelling, light entertainment, and other supportive activities that foster connection and joy.

The Foundation reaffirmed that elderly care remains a core part of its humanitarian mission and that every successful outreach represents a meaningful step toward building a more compassionate society.

โ€œEven small moments of care can make a lasting difference in the lives of the elderly.โ€

Inmate Skill Acquisition: FEF Plans Return Edition in Edo State

Building on the success of its 2025 outreach at the Ugbaja Correctional Centre, Edo State, Nigeria, the Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) has announced plans for another Inmate Skill Acquisition Programme in Edo State.

The previous intervention focused on empowering inmates with practical vocational skills, particularly in soap making, aimed at promoting self-reliance, rehabilitation, and improved reintegration prospects after incarceration.

Following the positive feedback and impact recorded from the last edition, FEF is now preparing to return with an expanded version of the initiative, introducing additional skill sets designed to further support behavioural reform and economic empowerment within correctional facilities.

The Foundation emphasized that skill acquisition programmes remain a key pillar in its rehabilitation strategy, as they provide inmates with practical tools to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to society upon release.

FEF also expressed appreciation to stakeholders and correctional authorities who supported the success of the previous outreach and continues to seek collaboration for the upcoming edition to ensure greater reach and sustainability.

The upcoming programme is expected to strengthen the Foundationโ€™s long-term vision of using empowerment as a tool for transformation, dignity restoration, and reduced recidivism.

โ€œWhen people are empowered with skills, they are given a second chance to rebuild their future.โ€

Ebonyi State Skill Project: FEF Calls for Stronger Commitment as Soap Production Enters Next Phase

The Frugal Empowerment Foundation (FEF) has called for renewed commitment from volunteers and beneficiaries under its Ebonyi State Skill Acquisition Project, as the initiative moves into a new phase focused on mass production of soap and detergent.

This development follows an intensive and successful training programme conducted in 2025, where participants were equipped with practical skills in soap and detergent making, business development, and basic production techniques aimed at fostering self-reliance and entrepreneurship.

With the training phase now concluded, FEF is shifting focus toward scaling up production capacity, encouraging beneficiaries to apply their acquired skills in a more structured and commercially viable way. The Foundation believes this transition is crucial for transforming skills into sustainable income-generating ventures.

FEF emphasized that the next phase will require stronger collaboration, discipline, and consistency from both volunteers and beneficiaries to ensure the long-term success of the project and its intended economic impact within communities.

The Foundation also reiterated its commitment to supporting grassroots entrepreneurship and creating opportunities that empower individuals to become job creators rather than job seekers.

Stakeholders are being encouraged to remain actively engaged as the project advances into this new stage, which is expected to strengthen local production networks and enhance economic resilience in Ebonyi State.

โ€œSkill is only the beginningโ€”true empowerment is achieved when knowledge becomes production and production becomes income.โ€

Greenwich Festive Aid forms part of FEFโ€™s broader humanitarian commitment to bringing hope and relief to underserved communities, especially during critical times of the year when economic pressures are often heightened.

The Foundation emphasized that the 2026 edition aims to surpass previous impact levels through stronger collaboration and increased donor participation.
