Alex Miyendibor Stella

SBE 2024 Beneficiary “ Frugal Empowerment Foundation

Lagos Nigeria

In a community where opportunities are scarce and survival often depends on determination, Alex Miyendibor Stella stands out with quiet strength. A hardworking woman with a vision, Alex dreams of starting a seasonal fruits business”selling mangoes, oranges, watermelons, and other local produce to support herself and contribute to her family’s well-being.

In 2024, Alex was selected as a beneficiary of the Frugal Empowerment Foundation’s Small Business Empowerment (SBE) Project, receiving vital startup capital to begin her venture. With the funds, she purchased her first batch of seasonal fruits, setting up a simple roadside stand that quickly began to attract local customers. Her energy and commitment are evident but so are the obstacles.

I’m really thankful to FEF for this opportunity. It gave me the push I needed to start,Alex says. But business is tough”between rising transport costs, market competition, and getting fresh fruit at good prices, I still need more help to grow.

Alex’s story is one of promise. With just a little more support, she could stabilize her operations, reach more customers, and make her business sustainable. Her resilience reflects that of many women across Nigeria ”ready to work, full of ideas, but held back by limited access to resources.

With your support, we can turn aspirations like Alex’s into thriving livelihoods. A little help can go a long way let’s build lasting change together.
