Alice is a petty trader

SBE 2024 Beneficiary “ Frugal Empowerment Foundation
In the heart of her local market, Alice works tirelessly each day as a petty trader, selling everyday essentials in small quantities pepper, onions, sachet seasonings, and household items. For Alice, her stall is more than just a business—it’s her lifeline, and her only means of providing for her family.
In 2024, Alice was selected as a beneficiary of the Frugal Empowerment Foundation’s Small Business Empowerment (SBE) Project, receiving a modest but impactful financial boost to support her trade. With the funds, she was able to restock her goods and meet the daily needs of her growing customer base. But in today’s economic climate, even that is not enough.
I’m grateful for the support from FEF. It helped me get back on my feet, Alice shares. But things are still hard. Prices keep rising, and it’s not easy to buy enough goods to keep up. I need more support to grow and stay steady.
Alice’s story reflects the reality of countless petty traders across Nigeria strong, resourceful, and full of potential, yet limited by a lack of consistent capital. With just a little more help, Alice could turn her small stall into a sustainable source of income and stability.
Your support can help Alice”and many like her build lasting livelihoods. When we empower small traders, we create ripple effects that strengthen families, communities, and the nation. Let’s make it happen together.
