Chizoba is a petty trader, she sells cold drinks

SBE 2024 Beneficiary Frugal Empowerment Foundation

Chizoba is a hardworking woman who runs a small cold drinks business. Under the hot sun, her cooler filled with chilled bottles is more than just a business ”it’s her means of survival. Each day, she sets up her stall with hope, relying on modest sales to feed her children and cover daily expenses.

But the challenges are real. The cost of ice, transportation, and restocking drinks has continued to rise, eating into her profit. Sometimes, unreliable electricity means she can’t keep her drinks cold”turning away potential customers and losing income she can’t afford to miss.

In 2024, Chizoba received a lifeline through the Frugal Empowerment Foundation’s Small Business Empowerment (SBE) Project. With the support, she was able to buy more stock and invest in a better cooler, which helped boost her sales and bring some relief.

I thank FEF so much, she says. This support helped me increase my sales, but I still face many struggles. I need more help to grow and take care of my children properly.

Chizoba’s story is a reflection of many women working hard every day to build a better life with very little. The SBE support gave her a boost”but sustained empowerment requires more than a one-time intervention.

With continued support, we can help women like Chizoba turn small efforts into lasting progress”for themselves, their families, and their communities.
