SBE 2024 Beneficiary – Frugal Empowerment Foundation
Maiduguri, Borno State

In the heart of Maiduguri, a city still healing from years of conflict and hardship, Juliana Samson stands resilient. A petty trader who sells vegetables and palm oil, Juliana’s small roadside stall is not just a source of income—it’s her means of survival. Every day, she battles inflation, insecurity, and the high cost of restocking goods just to feed her children and keep hope alive.

In 2024, Juliana was selected as one of the beneficiaries of the Frugal Empowerment Foundation’s Small Business Empowerment (SBE) Project, receiving a modest financial boost to support her business. Grateful for the assistance, she used the funds to expand her palm oil stock, drawing in more customers and improving her daily sales. Yet, the challenges remain enormous.

I thank FEF for remembering people like me. The money helped me, but business is still tough, and I need more help to stand fully,” Juliana shares. The rising cost of goods, coupled with her responsibilities as a mother, has made stability elusive. The SBE support was a spark, but to sustain and grow, Juliana needs more consistent backing.

Her story is a call to action. There are countless women like Juliana who have the strength and will to succeed, but lack the resources. With your support, we can turn small sparks into lasting transformation.
