Jummai Thomas

SBE 2024 Beneficiary Frugal Empowerment Foundation

Jummai is a small business owner who sells roasted corn by the roadside. Her simple stall may not look like much, but it is her main source of income”the way she feeds her children and keeps her home running.

Roasted corn is a seasonal business, and Jummai faces many challenges. Sometimes it’s hard to find fresh corn, and the price of charcoal keeps rising. Even when the weather is bad or customers are few, Jummai shows up every day, doing her best to earn a living.

In 2024, Jummai was selected as a beneficiary of the Frugal Empowerment Foundation’s Small Business Empowerment (SBE) Project. With the support she received, she was able to buy more corn, stock up on supplies, and serve more customers. Her business improved, and she felt encouraged to keep going.

I’m very grateful to FEF for their support. It helped me a lot, but I still face many struggles. I need more help to grow my business,Jummai says.

Her story is one of strength, resilience, and hope. With your support, we can continue to empower women like Jummai to build stronger businesses and brighter futures.
