Yajesin is a petty trader
SBE 2024 Beneficiary Frugal Empowerment Foundation
Yajesin is a petty trader whose daily hustle keeps her household going. From a small table at the roadside, she sells essential items”things like matches, seasonings, biscuits, and sachet water. With every sale, she takes one more step toward providing for her children and managing her home.
But the journey is far from easy. The rising cost of goods, frequent shortages, and limited capital make it difficult for Yajesin to keep her stall fully stocked. Some days, her profits are barely enough to get by. Yet, she continues to push forward with quiet determination.
In 2024, Yajesin was selected as one of the beneficiaries of the Frugal Empowerment Foundation’s Small Business Empowerment (SBE) Project. The support she received allowed her to expand her stock, improve her stall, and slightly increase her earnings.
I’m very grateful for the support from FEF,she says.It helped me, even though I’m still struggling. I want to grow my business more, but I need ongoing support.
Yajesin’s story mirrors that of many petty traders strong, hardworking women who need just a little help to go further. The SBE project gave her a starting point, but real growth takes consistency.
With your continued support, we can empower women like Yajesin to build stronger businesses, lift their families out of poverty, and contribute to thriving communities.
